An assault in a Mountain View park early Sunday morning left two victims injured and one in critical condition, police said.
In a written statement released Sunday afternoon, the Anchorage Police Department said officers responded to the call just after midnight.
When they arrived at the park, located near North Lane Street and Mountain View Drive, the officers found an unconscious male on the ground with injuries to his face and head. The victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. He remains in critical condition.
Two other male victims at the scene suffered lacerations to their faces. Medics treated them at the scene, according to the release.
After conducting a preliminary investigation, police determined that 27-year-old Jordan Teayoumeak had assaulted the three victims with a cane.
Teayoumeak was taken into custody at the scene. He was charged with first-degree and third-degree assault.
Police believe alcohol was a factor in the incident.
