Update: After further investigation, police have confirmed the death of the female found in the downtown hotel to be a suicide. They are working to notify the next of kin. The female was from out of state. No other identifying information is being released at this time.
Police are investigating a suspicious death at a downtown hotel this morning.
An adult female was found dead in a hotel room at the Econo Inn, located at 642 East 5th Avenue, according to a release.
Police dispatch received a call that a female was found deceased at around 11 a.m. Sunday.
Detectives and APD’s Crime Scene Team are responding to the incident. Police are also in the process of notifying next of kin.
