Five suspects have been indicted by a grand jury in connection with the multiple home invasions in Anchorage earlier this year.
In a statement released Tuesday afternoon, the Anchorage Police Department confirmed that all suspects have been charged with at least one count of first-degree robbery. All suspects have been arrested and taken to the Anchorage Jail, police said.
This news comes after dozens of hours of investigative work conducted by APD’s detective robbery and assault unit on a string of robberies in the city, spanning from March 8 to April 2.
Police have released the names of the five suspects: Terry Pierce, 16; Andy Garcia, 18; Gatdor Reat, 20; Matthew Colding, 19; and Changkuoth Kueth, 17. Both Pierce and Keuth are being charged as adults, police said.
All of the robbery cases are still open and active investigations, police said, and additional suspects could be named in the future.
Police are asking anyone who has additional information on these cases to call the department’s detective robbery and assault unit at 786-2444. People can also submit anonymous tips via Crime Stoppers by calling 561-STOP or by going online.
This is an ongoing story.
