FAIRBANKS, Alaska (AP) – A 49-year-old North Pole man is under arrest, accused of smashing storefront windows at three Fairbanks businesses.
The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner (http://is.gd/3lmLNu) says Scott Clark Rutter is charged with felony criminal mischief in the Sunday night incident.
The downtown businesses affected are Arctic Traveler, the Co-Op Plaza and Alaska Rare Coins. Police estimate damages at $17,000.
According to the criminal complaint, police received a report of the damage at about 11:30 p.m. Sunday.
Police say two witnesses identified Rutter, who authorities say has a swollen right hand.
Court documents say one witnesses reported seeing Rutter smash a window with his fist. According to authorities, another witness reported seeing Rutter arguing with a woman.
According to authorities, Rutter says he didn’t damage the storefronts. It’s unclear if Rutter has an attorney.
