A bicyclist was transported to a hospital with severe injuries after being struck by a truck in Fairbanks on Friday night, say Alaska State Troopers.
According to AST dispatch, at around 9:48 p.m., a silver or grey tuck hit two bicyclists on the shoulder of the road near the intersection of Sheep Creek Road and West Tanana Drive. A witness at the scene gave the description of the truck, adding that it was possibly a Chevrolet or GMC.
After hitting the two cyclists, the driver then drove away, say troopers.
As AST continues its investigation of the incident, troopers are encouraging anyone with information to call the Alaska State Troopers in Fairbanks at 451-5100.
