A former Fairbanks chiropractor has been sentenced to three years in prison for concealing bankruptcy assets and possessing illegal weapons that he wanted a hit man to use to kill Sarah Palin’s lawyer.
Federal prosecutors say 56-year-old Guy Mannino offered a machine gun and silencer for use in shooting attorney John Tiemessen in a matter unconnected to Palin, Alaska’s former governor.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Joe Bottini says Tiemessen represented another chiropractor in a lawsuit against Mannino and Mannino thought he was going to lose the case.
The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner (http://bit.ly/1AhWuAy) reports the man reported the plot to Alaska State Troopers.
Bottini says Mannino could not be charged in federal court with the murder plot because it did not cross state lines.
