The man charged in connection with the Friday morning stabbing of his mother and father appeared in court today for his arraignment.
“The thing of it is, you’re gonna let me f*cking go home today” — those were some of the first words out of 40-year-old Martin Victor IV’s mouth to the judge — followed by, ”Jesus came back. I’m king.”
Victor is charged with two counts of first-degree assault and two counts of first-degree attempted murder. On Friday, at around 9:15 a.m., Victor’s mother called the Anchorage Police Department to report that her son had stabbed her and her husband.
When officers arrived to the Fairview residence, they found Victor’s mother and father suffering from life-threatening wounds, according to court documents. Victor was not at the scene when officers arrived. He was later located with “blood on his clothing and fresh wounds to his hands,” the documents say.
From what police were able to gather, Victor was out on bail and had a hearing scheduled for Friday but didn’t want to go. When Victor’s father encouraged him to go to the hearing, Victor “got a knife and began stabbing his father,” court documents say.
“He then attacked his mother in an attempt to keep her from calling the police,” the documents state.
When APD came into contact with Victor and tried to interview him about the incident, he began to show signs of “obvious mental issues,” according to the officer’s affidavit.
“He became angry when I asked if I could read him his rights,” the documents say. “He said something like ‘a mortal can not give him rights.’”
In Sunday’s court appearance, Victor repeatedly interrupted the judge throughout the arraignment, stating that he was “above the law.” He also had to be physically escorted by an officer.
“F*cking drop the charges,” Victor said as the charges against him were presented. “Just drop the charges.”
Victor’s prior convictions include shoplifting and driving under the influence. Victor’s mother and father also previously petitioned for a domestic violence order against Victor, court documents say.
