The Anchorage Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying a man suspecting of sexually assaulting a woman near the University of Alaska Anchorage campus.
The victim, who assisted police in creating the sketch, reported the attack to UAA campus police just after 11 p.m. April 8. According to her, her assailant offered to let her spend the night at his house, as she did not live in Anchorage. While walking through the woods near Mosquito Lake, she says he “pushed her to the ground” and began assaulting her.
The suspect fled and, despite a K9 unit being deployed to the area, has not been found.
The victim described the suspect as a “stocky” male in his 20s, between 5-feet-5-inches and 5-feet-8-inches tall, with dark hair and freckles.
Police are asking anyone with information to call APD’s Special Victim’s Unit at 786-2431, or Crimestoppers to submit an anonymous tip by calling 561-STOP.
