Two early morning robberies at Anchorage Holiday Gas Stations are under investigation.
The first robbery took place a 5:30 a.m. Tuesday at a gas station on Huffman Road, according to a release from the Anchorage Police Department (APD).
Police were told two armed males, wearing black clothing and masks, entered the store with guns and demanded money, as well as cigarettes, from an employee. Police said they believe the suspects fled in a vehicle.
“[They] most likely got in a vehicle that was parked somewhere in the area and left in that way,” APD spokeswoman Jennifer Castro said in an interview. “We did do a search in the area. We also did a K-9 track, but it did not result in locating any suspects in the area at that time.”
About an hour later, at 6:45 a.m., police were notified of a second robbery on the 1900 block of Muldoon Road, APD said. It was again reported that two armed men entered the store and demanded money.
APD believes the two robberies could be connected.
“Police believe it is possible the suspects in both robberies are the same and are investigating both incidents,” the release says.
No injuries were reported in either robbery, and no suspects had been arrested when the release was published shortly after 7 a.m.
Anyone with information on the robberies is asked to call APD at 907-786-8900 or Crime Stoppers at 907-561-STOP.
APD responded to another incident Monday at a Holiday Gas Station near E. 68th Avenue and Lake Otis Parkway. According to APD, around 10:30 p.m. a male was critically injured when he shot.
The shooter stayed on scene and was taken into custody.
