The Anchorage Police Department is investigating an early morning shooting that resulted in at least one injury.

The shooting was reported just after 2 a.m. on Monday on the 4600 block of Reka Drive, police spokeswoman Renee Oistad said in a statement. Multiple 911 callers stated that several shots had been fired outside an apartment.

When police arrived, they found two men and a juvenile male inside the apartment involved in the shooting. Police questioned the three and obtained search warrants for the apartment, Oistad explained.

Less than 15 minutes after the shooting was reported, a man arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg, and Oistad said the report to police indicated he’d been shot at Reka Drive. Additionally, a white sedan at the hospital matched the description of a vehicle witnesses said left the area of the shooting immediately after the incident. The vehicle was impounded as evidence, she wrote.

Police interviewed multiple people believed to be involved in the shooting, Oistad said, adding that they “were mostly uncooperative.” She said no one had been charged in connection to the shooting as of 1:2o p.m.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asking to contact police at 907-786-8900. An anonymous tip can be submitted via Crime Stoppers online or by calling 907-561-7867.
