FAIRBANKS, Alaska (AP) – An apparent exchange of gunfire left two men critically wounded at an apartment complex in Fairbanks.
The city mayor’s office says two armed men at about 2 a.m. Tuesday entered an apartment with five people inside at Wedgewood Resort off College Road.
One man in the apartment also was armed.
Shot were fired. One of the men entering the apartment was injured and one inside was injured.
The two men who tried to enter the apartment fled but were found by police.
The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner (http://bit.ly/Mub3OW) reports the ages of the injured were 21 and 30. They were taken to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital and reported as stable but in critical condition.
Police did not immediately say how many shots were fired. Investigators were still at the scene Tuesday afternoon.
