Anchorage Police have charged a taxi driver who struck three pedestrians, sending them to the hospital, back in November of 2016.
Two males and one female were struck while crossing 3rd Avenue near Karluk Street around 6 p.m. Wednesday, November 30, when they were struck by a cab headed westbound on 3rd Avenue.
The cab was driven by 70-year-old Amnon Benjamin, who, on Tuesday, was arrested by APD at his home and charged with first-degree assault, two counts of third-degree assault and one count of reckless driving.
Police say Benjamin did not have drugs or alcohol in his system, but say he was speeding– doing 45 in a 30 mph zone.
