APD is asking for the public’s help in locating a man who escaped an Anchorage halfway house.
A warrant was issued for 37-year-old Derek Alton Cooper who walked out of the Cordova Center.
He was last seen leaving the halfway house wearing a black sweater, white shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.
Cooper was arrested for attempting to steal a vehicle.
Police describe the 37-year-old as 5’8” tall, 215 pounds with hazel eyes.
