Update: The robbery is believed to be drug-related, police said Monday.

ANCHORAGE – A woman at home with her teenage son was allegedly held at gunpoint and robbed by six men late Saturday night, police said.

A written statement from the Anchorage Police Department said the robbery at the residence on the 11000 block of Tulin Park Loop was reported at 11:25 p.m. Saturday. The female resident told police the doorbell rang and she answered the door — that’s when six men allegedly forced their way inside, holding her and her son at gunpoint and robbing the residence. The teenage boy was struck in the face by one of the suspects during the robbery, police said.

A preliminary investigation and search of the area revealed no suspects, police said.

One suspect was described as a black male, around 5 feet 8 inches tall with a slim build. Police said a second suspect is described as olive-skinned with a large facial birth mark, standing about 5 feet 7 inches tall. A third suspect is described as a black male in his 20s, about 5 feet 8 inches tall with a medium build and short  hair, and police said no descriptions were available for the remaining three alleged suspects.

Police said anyone with information on the crime is asked to call 786-8900 or click here to submit an anonymous tip.
