A 33-year-old man is in custody after allegedly stabbing his sister 14 times, authorities say.
On Friday, Juneau police received a call of a domestic violence assault. The caller — the victim of the assault — said she was stabbed multiple times by her brother, police said in a statement.
When Juneau police and Capital City Fire and Rescue responded to the call, Wayne Walter Williams, 33, had fled the residence, police said. The knife used in the assault wasn’t found at the home either.
The 22-year-old victim was taken to Bartlett Regional Hospital where staff determined she had been stabbed 14 times. Although serious injuries, police said, they didn’t appear to be life-threatening.
On Sunday, police were contacted about a man fitting Williams’ description on a beach near Douglas. Juneau police determined the man was Williams and he was taken into custody on suspicion of second-degree assault.
Williams is being held at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center without bail.
