A jury has been selected in the trial of a Coast Guard civilian technician charged with murdering two co-workers nearly two years ago.
James Michael Wells, 63, is charged with murder in the deaths of 51-year-old Richard Belisle and 41-year-old Petty Officer 1st Class James Hopkins at a communications station on Kodiak Island in April 2012.
Prosecutors say Wells had argued with his co-workers before gunning them down.
Defense attorneys, however, say the government case relies on surveillance video that is inconclusive. They also say prosecutors have no physical evidence linking Wells to the deaths.
Opening statements are slated for Tuesday.
