Lance Mackey, four-time Iditarod champion, has been arrested by Alaska State Troopers for violating conditions of his release in a pending 2013 DUI case.
Troopers say Mackey was driving without a valid license when he was stopped for speeding on the Richardson Highway near North Pole around 9 a.m. Saturday.
Troopers also say Mackey didn’t have proof of insurance when he was pulled over.
Mackey was taken to the Fairbanks Correctional Center, troopers say, with bail set at $1,000.
