Anchorage police have arrested four people for a home invasion in East Anchorage, as well as the two people whose home was broken into for child endangerment.

Police said it happened on the 3200 block of Penland Parkway around 5 a.m. Sunday.

They said two armed people forced their way into the home and demanded the people living there “get down.” Police said one of the suspects also hit one of the victims, and that’s when he fought back, causing the suspects to flee.

Police pulled over a suspicious vehicle a short time later and arrested 21-year-old Chantel Rushing, 22-year-old Jacobi Stephens, 21-year-old Demitri Scott and 23-year-old James Griffin.

All were charged in connection to the home invasion and taken to the Anchorage Jail.

Police say the victims of the home invasion, 25-year-old Amanda Loyd and 24-year-old Jonah Robinson, have also been charged with child neglect for placing a 3-year-old in danger.

Police say the child was in the house when it was invaded, and both Loyd and Robinson admitted they were growing and selling marijuana. They allegedly told police they had recently done a drug deal with the home invasion suspects.

Robinson has also been charged with malicious destruction for kicking out the rear window of a police car.

Loyd and Robinson were taken to the Anchorage Jail. The child has been placed in the care of family members, police said.
