Fire officials are asking the public for help in figuring out who set a car on fire Thursday morning in the Taku/Campbell area of Anchorage.
Around 2:37 a.m., the Anchorage Fire Department responded to a car fire near 8225 Old Seward Highway. When they arrived, they found a parked Honda Accord engulfed in flames. Unable to determine the cause of the fire, the firefighters referred the case to AFD’s fire investigator, said department forester John See in a statement.
The investigator found the fire was started on purpose. AFD is asking anyone with information to call the investigator at 267-4900 or the arson hotline at 267-5060. Anonymous tips can also be submitted via Crime Stoppers.
