Alaska State Troopers say a Wasilla man was arrested after driving while intoxicated with seven young children in his vehicle on Saturday night.
Troopers responded to a report of a reckless driver near the intersection of West Point Mackenzie Road and South Lu Young Lane at 8:43 p.m., according to AST dispatch.
When troopers conducted a traffic stop on the 1999 Ford F-350, they found 33-year old Kile Thimsen, who appeared to be severely intoxicated, with seven children in his truck. None of the children were wearing restraining devices, troopers say.
He was arrested and charged with DUI, reckless driving and multiple counts of first-degree endangering the welfare of a child, among other charges. Adding to the list of charges, Thimsen was also driving with a suspended license, troopers say.
He is now being held at the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility without bail.
