A Florida man has been accused of stalking Bristol Palin after officers arrested him outside of Palin’s Wasilla residence on Sunday.
According to a complaint filed by Wasilla Police Department officer Brandon Gray, WPD responded to a call from Palin at about 6:15 p.m.
Palin told WPD there was a male at her residence. She told police the man was stalking her and gave a description of the suspect, the charging documents say.
When police arrived on scene, they detained 25-year-old Peter P.W. Ferrero near Palin’s residence, according to the complaint.
Palin told Gray that when she arrived home with her son, she was approached by Ferrero in her driveway. Ferrero introduced himself as “Peter Paul.” Palin says she’s received approximately 1,000 Facebook messages from him since March, according to the charging documents.
Palin then told Ferrero to leave several times and he refused. Palin says she took her son and ran across the street to contact police, according to the charging documents.
In a search of the scene, Gray found fingerprints on the floor of the third story balcony and on the door leading to the hallway of the master bedroom of Palin’s home. Gray also found a sweatshirt and a substance believed to be marijuana on the balcony, according to the charging documents. Ferrero admitted these items belonged to him.
Ferrero told WPD that he came to Alaska from Florida on Sept. 3 to “live the Alaskan life.” He said he was staying at a bed-and-breakfast near Palin’s residence. Ferrero told Gray he removed his sweatshirt because he got hot while looking for the B&B. When he threw the sweatshirt, it just happened to land on Palin’s balcony. When Ferrero didn’t get an answer at the front door, he climbed to the third story and attempted to open the balcony door.
After about an hour of waiting for Palin to come home, Ferrero said he climbed down the balcony to “explain his issues” to her.
Bristol’s sister, Willow Palin, also stated she received Facebook messages and phone calls from a man who identified himself as “Peter Paul.” Ferrero admitted to contacting Willow, the charging documents say.
Ferrero is charged with first-degree felony stalking. Charging documents indicate that Ferrero has been previously convicted of a similar crime.
