A man is in critical condition after a stabbing on a bike trail near Dimond Center Friday night.
Police say the stabbing took place near 88th Avenue and Old Seward Highway at about 10:15 p.m.
Twin brothers Joshua and Justin Toliver and an unidentified female were walking on the bike trail when they came upon a group of young teens, according to a release from the Anchorage Police Department.
What began as a verbal altercation between the two groups turned physical and ended with a stabbing of both 22-year-olds, say police, who arrived just as the group of teens scattered.
Justin is in critical condition at a local hospital after sustaining several stab wounds to his abdomen and upper torso. Joshua, who sustained a cut to his hand and hip, was treated and released.
Apparently, the victims knew a few of the members of the group, say police. However, they were unfamiliar with the person who did the actual stabbing, police say.
This is an ongoing investigation. Police say the suspect is still wanted.
