ANCHORAGE – A man was sentenced to prison Tuesday for the part he played in an Anchorage and Fairbanks drug conspiracy.
Antonio Fleming, 35, of Anchorage was sentenced to 52 months in prison and five years of supervised release, according to a statement from prosecutors.
Nicknamed “Wookie,” Fleming had already been on supervised release for a prior drug conspiracy where he was sentenced to 10 years in November 2002, the statement said.
Because of his new conviction, Fleming had 18 months tacked on for the probation violation to be served following the 52 months — making for a total 70 months in prison.
Fleming was part of a cocaine trafficking conspiracy where he and more than a dozen co-conspirators attempted to mask their drug trafficking by making it appear they were artists, employees and promoters of a recording label and rap and hip-hop group dubbed “Out Da Cutt” (ODC) Entertainment and “Up North ‘D” or “Dope Boys,” according to Kelly Cavanaugh, assistant U.S. attorney.
Members would record songs, upload videos to YouTube.com and perform shows in Anchorage and Fairbanks. The lavish lifestyle depicted in their music was funded by their drug sales. Fleming posed as a business manager of the record label and recording group. In reality, prosecutors said, he was busy collecting drug debts.
Nine others have been sentenced and four have pled guilty and are awaiting sentencing, the statement said.
